  5. OVERVIEW

  7. The Acegi Security System for Spring provides security services for
  8. The Spring Framework (http://www.springframework.org).
  9. For a detailed list of features and access to the latest release, please visit

  12. SIGNED JAR FILES
  13. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14. We strongly recommend that you verify the integrity of the JAR files included
  15. in this release. You can do so using the following command:
  16. "jarsigner -verify -verbose -certs jar_file_name"
  17. Of course, replace the jar_file_name with "dist/acegi-security.jar" or the
  18. appropriate path to the Acegi Security JAR to be validated.
  19. Until further notice, all Acegi Security official releases are signed by:

  22. If the above certificate was not used, or the JAR was not validated, DO NOT
  23. USE THE JAR. Please email the acegisecurity-developers list (contact details

  26. BUILDING

  28. Acegi Security is built using Maven. Please check building instructions at
  29. http://acegisecurity.sourceforge.net

  31. QUICK START
  32. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  33. Copy samples/contact/dist/contacts.war into your container webapps directory.
  34. Then visit http://localhost:8080/contacts/ and click "Manage". The Acegi
  35. Security System for Spring secures this small application by protecting both
  36. the method invocations of business objects, and also the HTTP URLs.

  42. ADDING ACEGI SECURITY TO YOUR OWN APPLICATION

  44. Take a look in samples/quick-start. There we give you the fragments to add to
  45. your existing web.xml and applicationContext.xml, along with a couple of files
  46. that need to be added to your WAR file.
